How To Prepare Your Items To Sell

After registering to consign with Hand Me Ups, You will need to prepare your items.  First, check your items for recalls.

Unaccepted Items

Check your items for any not accepted.

 

-NO stained, ripped, torn, pilled or otherwise damaged items.  All items should smell fresh and clean.  Toys and games need to have all their parts and pieces.  All items requiring batteries must have them and work. 
-NO Recalled items.  You are responsible for checking recalls on your items. 
-NO Used underwear (nursing bras and training bras accepted).  New in factory sealed packaging is acceptable. 
-NO CRT televisions
-NO Car seats five years old or older unless specifically stated by manufacture that expiration date is more than five years.  There must be at least one year left until expiration.  You must be the original owner and it must not have been in an accident of any kind.  Please check the sticker on the bottom or sides for the date of manufacture before bringing to the sale.  A waiver must be signed at drop off.    
-NO Self-recorded videos, cassettes or DVDs

-NO breastpumps (Accessories ok)
-NO Non-maternity Adult clothing & purses (Maternity Items accepted.  Junior sizes also accepted)
-NO Non-working electronic items
-NO Advertising/corporate logo items
-NO used nipple covers or shields, bottle nipples, or pacifiers. We only accept these items brand new, factory sealed. Sippy cups are accepted only if they’re not chewed.
-NO medical supplies
-NO Used medicine droppers/spoons, nasal aspirators and thermometers- we only accept them brand new, factory sealed
-NO Crib bumpers (except the breathable type unless sold as a complete bedding kit- Due to the guidelines released by the American Academy of Pediatrics.  All other crib and cradle bedding are acceptable.

Crib bumpers to be used solely at parents discretion. 
-NO games or movies that were downloaded, copied and/or accessed on the internet, or which need a private activation, registration or similar code for playing it
-NO Library books or Dolly Parton Imagination Library Books
-NO Consumables past their expiration date (such as Easy Bake Oven mixes)
-No miscellaneous fast food or dollar store type toys.
-No cribs, toddler beds, bath seats, walkers or play-yards that do not meet the current safety standards.  All cribs must be manufactured after the June 28,2011 date to meet the new federal standard for full size cribs. These items that meet these standards are allowed.  


Please remember: we will inspect all items at drop off.  Any items found to not meet quality standards for safety and quality will be returned to you. We will also inspect items during the sale, and reserve the right to “pull” items, if necessary.

#5  Bring in your items that you have tagged and prepared to our event location on drop off day. 

Typically this is held a couple days before the event. 

For our Fall 2019 event, the drop off day will be Monday, October 28

Times are available on your consignor account HERE.

Watch your totals as the sale progesses.  

 

Pick up any unsold items you do not want to donate at the end of the event. 

The Fall 2019 event pick up is Sunday, November 3 between 8-10am

 

Checks are mailed 7-10 days after the event.
